There are only 14 players on the roster, meaning they have one open scholarship going into the summer. McMillan said last night at the Dallas Coach’s Night that they are going to hold onto that scholarship for the time being, but could add someone in the summer, similar to what happened last year.

Warren’s status uncertain, but Aggies expect him

Transfer guard Bryson Warren’s status for the 2026-27 is not a certainty, as he will be moving from the professional ranks (the G-League) to the SEC. Before Coach’s Night Wednesday in Dallas, McMillan noted that they were still going through the waiver process with Warren, but he was looking forward to getting the sharpshooter on campus. A&M not only has Warren on their current roster, but has him listed as a freshman, which you’d expect for a player with no collegiate experience. But most players didn’t spend three seasons in the G-League, either. When Ruben Dominguez came over from the European pro ranks, he was classified as a sophomore.

Mgbako still not 100%

Forward Mackenzie Mgbako was Texas A&M’s major transfer addition last year, but he only played in seven games last year due to a pair of foot injuries. The second surgery was more extensive and he’s apparently still not at 100%. McMillan said he expects Mgbako to be back at full strength sometime this summer, giving him several months of normal preparation for the season.
