Texas A&M Official Visitor Weekend Recap

Texas A&M hosted a massive recruiting weekend in College Station, bringing in some of the nation’s top prospects. After talking with sources following the visits, here’s where things currently stand with several key targets and commits.

The Latest after a massive recruiting weekend

Five-Star LB Kaden Henderson

We’ll start with five-star linebacker Kaden Henderson, the top linebacker target on Texas A&M’s board. Sources tell me the visit went very well, and the Aggies remain in pole position — a spot they’ve largely held for the last four to five months.

This recruitment appears to be shaping up as a battle between Texas A&M, Notre Dame, and Miami. At this point, I view Notre Dame as the biggest threat to the Aggies. Henderson attends a Catholic school, and that connection continues to make the Fighting Irish a major factor in this recruitment.

Four-Star WR Damani Warren

The Aggies also hosted four-star wide receiver Damani Warren out of Las Vegas. The 6-foot-4, 210-pound playmaker had an outstanding visit to College Station, and Texas A&M continues to make a strong impression.

From what I’ve gathered, this recruitment is trending toward a Texas A&M vs. Michigan battle. As things currently stand, I believe the Aggies hold the edge, with a decision expected sometime within the next three weeks.

Texas Tech Commit Sarod Baker

Texas Tech running back commit Sarod Baker returned to College Station for the first time since pledging to the Red Raiders. Sources indicate the visit went very well, and Texas A&M gave him plenty to think about moving forward.

Flipping Baker away from Texas Tech will not be easy, as he’s still considered very solid in his commitment. However, when it comes to recruiting running backs, it’s hard to ever count out Trooper Taylor and the Aggies’ staff.

Five-Star OT Mark Matthews

Five-star offensive tackle and Texas A&M commit Mark Matthews was also on campus for his official visit, and by all accounts, the weekend could not have gone much better.

Matthews spent much of the visit acting as a recruiter for the Aggies, helping build relationships with other top targets in attendance. The excitement surrounding the program is clear, as Matthews is already expected to return to College Station next weekend for another unofficial visit.

Final Take

Overall, this was a highly successful weekend for Mike Elko and the Texas A&M staff. The Aggies strengthened their position with elite targets like Kaden Henderson and Damani Warren, continued working on a potential flip with Sarod Baker, and received a major boost from committed cornerstone Mark Matthews as he helped recruit alongside the coaching staff.

The momentum in College Station continues to build heading into a critical stretch of the 2027 recruiting cycle.
