First Nate Boerkircher, now Albert Regis.
With their first two picks in the 2026 NFL Draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars have taken a pair of Aggies. After taking Boerkircher in the second round, the Jags picked Regis with the 81st overall pick, the 17th in the third round.
A multi-year starter at defensive tackle and team leader at A&M, Regis had an outstanding 2025 while rotating with Tyler Onyedim (taken 66th overall by Denver) and DJ Hicks. Regis tallied 49 tackles, 3 tackles for loss and 2 sacks in his final season at A&M.
The Jaguars use a 4-2-5 scheme, similar to A&M’s, and look for their tackles to push up the field to make things easier for their defensive ends to make plays. That’s not dissimilar to what he had done at A&M, making him a good fit for Jacksonville.
Regis will be the third Aggie on the defending AFC South champions, joining Boerkircher and safety Antonio Johnson, who had a breakout season in 2025 with 5 interceptions.
