Five-star offensive tackle Mark Matthews is entering the final stages of his recruitment, with a decision expected within the next week.

As reported over the past week and a half, Texas A&M has surged in this race and, as things stand today, appears to be in the best position to land the nation’s No. 1 offensive tackle.
Texas A&M is scheduled to conduct an in-home visit with Matthews today. Per NCAA guidelines, head coaches are not permitted for this visit, so the expectation is that offensive line coach Adam Cushing, along with other staff members, will lead the in-home effort.
Miami, meanwhile, is pushing to keep Matthews uncommitted through the weekend, as they are set to have their own in-home visit on Friday. However, there is growing sentiment that Matthews’ recruitment could conclude prior to that visit taking place.
Notably, sources indicate that Texas A&M does not currently hold the top NIL offer in this recruitment. Despite that, Adam Cushing has played a pivotal role throughout the process, giving the Aggies a legitimate shot at securing the top offensive tackle in the country.
