Elite 2028 Prospect Asher Ghioto talks about his Recruitment and Interest in A&M

The recruitment of Asher Ghioto is officially in overdrive. As the #3 ranked player in the Class of 2028, Ghioto has quickly become one of the most sought-after names in the country, and he recently took a major step in his process by spending significant time in College Station.

Five-Star DE Asher Ghioto on his Texaa A&M Visit

Ghioto recently sat down to recap a productive two-day visit with Texas A&M, giving us a glimpse into where things stand with the Aggies and what he’s looking for at the next level.

“Recruiting is Crazy”

For a prospect of Ghioto’s caliber, the attention can be overwhelming, but he’s keeping a level head as the offers continue to pour in.

“Recruiting is crazy,” Ghioto said. “I’m in contact with a ton of schools and feel super blessed to be in this situation.”

While he’s hearing from programs across the nation, his recent trip to Texas A&M allowed him to go beyond the phone calls and see the operation firsthand. The visit, which spanned two days, gave the blue-chip prospect an extended look at the facilities and the coaching staff.

“I was at A&M a few weeks ago,” Ghioto noted. “It was a two-day visit and I had an amazing time and got a feel for the program.”

The Focus: Technical Mastery

While his ranking suggests he’s already at the top of his game, Ghioto isn’t resting on his natural talent. When asked about his development, the Florida standout was quick to point out the specific technical aspects he’s looking to sharpen before he hits the college ranks.

“I want to continue to improve my footwork and eyes to the ball,” Ghioto said. “Having good angles and leverage on every play.”

That commitment to the “little things”—leverage and eye discipline—is exactly why scouts have him pinned as a top-three player in his cycle. For Ghioto, it isn’t just about winning the rep; it’s about winning it with perfect technique.

What’s Next?

With the Aggies making a strong early impression, Ghioto remains locked in on his preparation. As one of the cornerstones of the 2028 class, his recruitment will be a national battle, but Texas A&M has clearly positioned itself as a serious contender early in the race.
