In A&M’s scheme, the tackles tend to be able to play both spots, so they don’t really define them as a nose tackle and defensive tackle. You could see any combination of the top six (three from each list) out there together.

Record-setting haul at OL could really pick up steam soon
Last weekend, the Aggies landed the commitment of 5-star offensive tackle Kennedy Brown. They are now becoming an increasingly large favorite to land 5-star tackle Mark Matthews, the sixth-ranked player in the nation according to my former employer. They’re in the driver’s seat for Albert Simien, the nation’s top interior lineman. Oluwasemilore Olubobola is a name that gets overlooked because he’s from New Jersey, but he’s the #3 offensive tackle in the nation and he may be moving towards a decision here soon. I know I’ve said all this before, but this may come together far quicker than in the old days. Matthews may commit somewhere at any time, and Olubobola may just be waiting on him to move. Four 5-stars, two 4-stars and Jackson Roper (another 4-star) a heavy lean? That really would be the greatest class of all time at the position.
A&M changing direction with Meredith?
Much to my disappointment, I think the Aggie coaching staff is beginning to look at the possibility of a class without national #2 player and top corner John Meredith (as Landyn has said). I’ve heard that there’s a shift towards a strong push for the nation’s #3 corner, Josh Dobson (who is just the ninth ranked player in the nation), and they offered 4-star Tavares Harrington earlier in the week. Those would not appear to be positives with respect to the Meredith recruitment. Texas, which needs a corner and an in-state win, is offering up a lot. But, with four 5-stars and likely more on the way, A&M may not be able to match what they’re going to offer.
