Aggies get premium airtime in Weeks 1-3

Following a season in which they went 11-2 and made the College Football Playoff, Texas A&M will have its first three games televised nationally on ESPN or ABC.

A&M will open its season Sept. 5, when they take on the Missouri State Bears. Missouri State posted a 7-6 record in 2025, a fairly impressive feat considering it was their first season at the FBS level. Now a member of Conference USA, the Bears will face the Aggies starting at 6 p.m. central time on ESPN.

A&M’s biggest non-conference opponent for the season comes to Kyle Field the following weekend, Sept. 12. Arizona State went from Big 12 Champion in 2024 to an 8-5 team last year and had to undergo a major rebuild in the offseason. The Sun Devils have a new quarterback in former Kentucky starter Cutter Boley, who replaced Sam Leavitt when he transferred to LSU. The Aggies and Arizona State will kick off at 11 a.m. on ABC — a time that does no favors for the visitors.

The Aggies will open their conference schedule Sept. 19 when they host Kentucky. The Wildcats have a new coach in Will Stein and an offense almost totally rebuilt via the transfer portal. The projected starter at quarterback is former Notre Dame backup Kenny Minchey, while the starter at running back will likely be Texas transfer CJ Baxter.

The Aggies and Wildcats will have the key afternoon spot, kicking off at 2:30 p.m. central time. The game will be televised either on ESPN or ESPN2.
