The No. 1 linebacker in the country is currently on campus for his official visit to Texas A&M, and that player is Kaden Henderson. Henderson has been a priority target for the Aggies for several years and is widely viewed as one of the top names — if not the top name — on Texas A&M’s linebacker board in the 2027 class.

Over the last few weeks, I’ve spoken with several sources surrounding Henderson’s recruitment, and the general feeling is that Texas A&M is firmly in the lead group, with some even believing the Aggies currently hold the edge. The relationship between Henderson and new linebackers coach Travis Williams continues to be a major factor, and Texas A&M has shown it can compete with any program in the country from an NIL standpoint.

I like where the Aggies stand heading into the weekend, but this recruitment is far from over. Henderson still has official visits and conversations remaining with programs such as Notre Dame and Miami, two schools that continue to push hard for the elite linebacker. Still, Texas A&M has positioned itself extremely well entering the summer, and if everything goes according to plan this weekend, don’t rule out the possibility of the Aggies making a significant move before Henderson leaves College Station.
