Camp storylines

Is this the most complete receiver corps in recent memory? It might be. They’ve got a big receiver in Isaiah Horton, the kind of player they didn’t have last year. Craver and Bethel-Roman have proven that they’re explosive downfield threats who can get yards after the catch. Bussey is still a 5-star talent. Norman was a pleasant surprise last year, and the 2026 receiver class may be as good as any A&M has had in a long time. They have size, speed and reliable receivers. At least, on paper.

Do they have a replacement for KC Concepcion? Of course not. There’s no way to directly replace a first team All-American and a first round draft pick. But they do have other capable players who can step in capably, starting with Bethel-Roman. Having Horton and (hopefully) Jerome Myles gives them big targets who can be weapons on third down and in the red zone but can also get down the field. Craver is one of the nation’s best at picking up yards after the catch. Nobody is as explosive as Concepcion, but a lot of effective options that can thrive in different ways.

Will the class of 2026 pass up the class of 2025 — and more than that? It’s very possible. Aaron Gregory was extremely impressive in the spring and looks like he’s ready to play right now. Madden Williams and Jaylen Warren both have the ability to be downfield threats and Mike Brown could be a starting slot in the making. It’s a very impressive class and they may not sit around for long.
