Camp Storylines

Who’s going to start? Searcy started last year and was excellent during the second half of the season. Jones flashed in a big way later in the year. But Saka and Henderson have plenty of experience at other programs. Which leads to the next question…

Are Saka and Henderson three-down players? At Northwestern and San Diego State, they didn’t play all the time, but a significant amount. Henderson, for instance, played more snaps last year than Searcy. They don’t need to play every down on every series at A&M, but they should be capable of playing significant roles — and not just as pass rushers.

What role will Jones play? If I’m right, a big one. He started to become a legitimate factor on a CFP team late last year and absolutely dominated this spring. He’s got outstanding speed for his size and may be a difference maker this season.

Will any of the freshmen play? If anyone does, it’ll be Perry-Wright. He has the size to compete at the SEC level right now and looked good during spring practice. The expectations for him are high.

Projected Two-Deep
