What A&M wants to do
The same thing it did last year against Missouri: bash them with the run and using the passing game to keep the chains moving.
In 2025, the Aggies went up against a rush defense that was 14th in the nation giving up 90 yards a game. The Aggies rushed for 243, a number that included a 49-yard fake punt by Dalton Brooks. They controlled the line of scrimmage against a vaunted Missouri front seven from the start and didn’t really push the ball down the field. The short and medium passing game was enough for Reed, who went 20-29 for 221 yards and a couple of touchdowns.
Last week showed what the Aggies want to do on offense: run the ball as much as possible, out-physical opponents, control the clock and wear Missouri down. A&M controlled time of possession last season, holding onto the ball for 35:42; if they’re going to win tomorrow, they’ll have to do the same. If Reed wants to turn it on again, the Missouri secondary has been suspect, but the top goal has to be keeping the football and wearing the Tigers out.

How Missouri may try to counter
Not much of a surprise here: slow down the run and get after Reed with their pass rush. They already have 15 sacks, with Hopkins having six (more than the entire Aggie defense) alone.
They know that A&M wants to play it conservative, grind things out and keep the passing game on the safe side. So they’ll likely have a lot of guys in the box and run blitz, even though their secondary hasn’t been good.
Louidor-Faustin, their STAR, will likely play tomorrow, even though he’s banged up. He’s used in a way like the Aggies use a safety down in the box, as a run-blitzer who can also pressure off the edge. He’s someone the tight ends and backs will have to keep a close eye on.
Last week, Florida had 325 yards of total offense but only 42 yards on the ground. That’s exactly the kind of outcome they want tomorrow, because that will put the pressure on Reed and they’ll likely take that gamble, especially with Bussey out and Craver a long way from 100%.
