There’s bad, there’s really bad, and then there’s…THE BOTTOM 10. This week’s dishonorees:

10. Colorado (2-5): Lost 57-24 to Oklahoma State Saturday while giving up 598 yards of total offense. Can the remaining Coach Prime devotees realize he’s not going to be moving up to a power program and shouldn’t be where he is?
9. UTEP (1-6): They’re only this high because they didn’t play this past weekend. Give them time.
8. Washington State (1-7): After losing 31-10 to Boise State, they’ve lost four straight. Their only win was over Duquesne, which I didn’t know had a football program.
7. Sam Houston (1-6): Positive: they scored four times as many points as they did in their first two conference games.
Negative: That still only got them to 24 and New Mexico State scored 30.
6. Kennesaw State (1-6): I’ve been generous with them as they’re a newer FBCS program. Never mind; they stink. Close losses or not, every FBS team they’ve played this year has beaten them.
5. Akron (1-7): Kent State is historically a bad football program. They are a bad team this year. They stomped Akron 35-20 Saturday.
4. Sacramento State (1-7): Ball State, a regular in these parts, stomped them 34-17 this past weekend — and that’s the closest they’ve come to a win in two months. Only two teams have given up more points than they have.
3. Charlotte (1-6): This is one of those teams — but they beat Temple 38-31! Rejoice!
2. Rice (1-7): QB Gael Ochoa ran for 259 yards and four touchdowns on just 12 carries! That’s better than 21 yards a rush! He also threw for another 80 and a touchdown in just two completions in five attempts. That’s amazing!
And they lost 51-49 to Florida Atlantic.
And, back again for a return engagement at number one..
1. Northern Illinois (0-7): This was it — the big chance. A home matchup against 1-6 Hawaii (who was on this list last week)!
They got absolutely crushed, 56-21.
